This is what God looks like

I've battled depression on and off for nearly 30 years. During that time, I've had three bad episodes, week-long events when I needed help with my family life so I could make it to doctor's appointments and throw darts at a medication chart to see what help might present itself to me. During his illness, a group of Catholics in Chicago I've never met in person but with whom I have convened via Zoom nearly every Wednesday at the crack of Arizona dawn, have prayed with me for Parker and his family.

Just in case there's any doubt.
I love babies. I love mommas. And I know that pregnancy is not always unicorns and rainbows and parenting definitely is not. I get real tired of people pretending otherwise. I also get real tired of systems remaining unchanged when the people in power spout "prolife" slogans.
