One of the first things parents teach their children is to not be a bully. Its right up there with "play fair," "don't lie," and be a good sport.
This photo demonstrates my phenomenal multi-tasking skills. If I dropped the coffee and water, I could probably run carrying the bambino for about half a block, because he's a hunkster and I'm approximately 326 years old. (I wish I was @jude317 with her ability to run half marathons, but alas, I am not.)
My great nephew, Parker, died this week at the young age of 14 after battling cancer for nearly 2 years. During his illness, a group of Catholics in Chicago I've never met in person but with whom I have convened via Zoom nearly every Wednesday at the crack of Arizona dawn, have prayed with me for Parker and his family.
Just some data to drop, courtesy of the NYTimes newsletter. The one w/ the newspaper reporter really cuts close to home. (If you want to know what happens in a country that has strict rules on who gets a gun and ALSO has gun ownership is almost as high as the U.S., check out Sweden's approach.)
Just in case there's any doubt.
I love babies. I love mommas. And I know that pregnancy is not always unicorns and rainbows and parenting definitely is not. I get real tired of people pretending otherwise. I also get real tired of systems remaining unchanged when the people in power spout "prolife" slogans.
