Are you tired? Me, too.

We were lucky enough to spend 28 days in Canada this summer and so I am late posting the Arizona Daily Star column that ran in late July.

If you, like me, have felt sort of at the end of your rope lately, you’re not alone. I’m right there with you, as you can see here.

  1. Renee, I enjoy reading your “Renee Wrote This” articles and especially since I have experienced an increase in Tucson residency by my family, I have also subscribed to your newspaper’s online site offered on your blog. I don’t want to get “Long Winded” Renee but just wanted to let you know I have never been a political person. I am a Centrist in most all things. I gave up reading newspapers, watching local news and have never watched the cable news networks except CNN when it first started many years ago. I have many friends on both sides of the fence that divides us and I listen to them all. Sadly, I am no longer able to fly out to Tucson to visit Glen, Debra, Michael, Lauren, Austin and yourself and your family. God Bless and keep on writing. I will never offer any opinions as that’s not my nature. With my age and health problems I feel it best to be separated from the news networks. I need to be isolated from the world to maintain my mental and physical health. Best Regards, Grand Daddy Simmons

    1. Hello, Arvil! I really appreciate you reading my work and I know exactly how you feel about having friends on both sides of the aisle. I am a centrist myself in most all things – that’s the Catholic in us, I think. I strongly believe in local news, however, because that’s where we are most affected in our lives. I have never been a huge TV news watcher b/c I think it can be inflammatory, and I’m always telling people to stay away from cable news. If people knew how cable news worked (in particular FOX), how they make money off of making people angry, they’d give it up. Problem is, rage is addictive. You are making the right choice to keep yourself separated from it! God bless you and thank you for reading — and I’m all ears if you DO want to share any opinions :-).
